On April 19th, please join us at the University of Miami Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science campus auditorium for a screening of the documentary, Dispatches from the Gulf 2. This film, narrated by Matt Damon, brings the viewer on an experience into the incredible stories and research of those that are studying the environmental impacts of the Deepwater Horizon oil spill, and how they are working to understand it for the future. Additionally, RECOVER principal investigator, Dr. Martin Grosell, and CARTHE researcher, Dr. Guillaume Novelli, will represent their respective consortium to answer and discuss their research on a discussion panel.
The Deepwater Horizon oil spill, whose 8 year anniversary is on April 20th, is the largest North American oil spill to date.
This event is being hosted by us, RECOVER, and CARTHE as a Smithsonian Earth Optimism Sister Event (#EarthOptimism2018).
