We are extremely proud and happy to introduce you to Dr. Jason Magnuson! It has been an honor to work with him and be a part of his Ph.D journey through RECOVER at the University of North Texas. We are excited to see what the future holds for him as he continues on into his post- doctoral position with RECOVER co – PI Dr. Dan Schlenk at the University of California – Riverside. Below, please find a word from Dr. Aaron Roberts.
“Jason Magnuson successfully defended his dissertation on July 3 and will receive his PhD in Biological Sciences from UNT. Jason was an extremely productive, hard-working student during his time in our lab. He has four first-authored papers either in review or about to be submitted and is a coauthor on four other publications. He presented his work at numerous national and international conferences garnering a best student presentation award at an international conference in Vietnam. His research was truly the first of its kind to link physiological deficits in fish vision to oil exposure during early development. Jason will be moving on to a postdoctoral appointment with fellow RECOVER PI Dr. Dan Schlenk at the University of California-Riverside in the fall. Jason was a tireless worker and a great colleague at UNT. He will be missed!”
